Register for College Dance Day

Dance educators are invited to bring students for a fun and informative day to learn what it’s like to study dance in college. During the ECU College Dance Day, dancers will tour the theatre and dance facilities, talk with faculty and current students, take class, and watch a showing of dance works.

College Dance Day will be held Friday, October 26, 2018 from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm at the Messick Theatre Arts Center.

Please register by Friday, October 12. As space in our facility is limited, we ask that educators limit groups to 5-7 students who intend to pursue dance in their college studies.

The program is organized by the ECU Chapter of the National Honor Society for Dance Arts. The requested donation is $10 per dancer, which will go to support the participation of our members in this national organization. Please bring cash (exact change) or checks (make payable to “NHSDA”) to the event. We want this event to be accessible to all interested students, so please contact Dr. Nesbit if the cost presents a concern for your students.

Participants and parents/guardians must sign a Liability Waiver and Photo Release form prior to participating.  Please download, print, and distribute the forms to participating students, and bring the completed forms with you on the day of the event. Each school group should have one or more responsible adult chaperones (at the ratio of 1:10 for students ages 9-14 and 1:12 for students ages 15-17) who will stay with the students and supervise them throughout the day.

If your group would like to participate in a tour of the ECU Campus following the College Dance Day activities, please contact the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.

For questions, please contact Dr. Nesbit at nesbitm@ecu.edu or 252-328-6325.
