ECU Leadership, acting in the interest of our students and patrons as related to COVID-19, has announced that large gatherings, including the remainder of the Playhouse season, are suspended indefinitely. To that end, the remaining productions in the 2019-2020 Loessin Playhouse season: Spring Dance Concert and School for Scandal – have been cancelled.

From the safety of their suburban life, a girls’ soccer team navigates big questions and wages tiny battles with all of the force of a pack of adolescent warriors. A portrait of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for nine American girls who just want to score some goals.
Presented in the 200-seat Burnette Studio Theatre adjacent to the McGinnis/Messick Theatre Center, this “black box” venue combines limited seating for an intimate theatrical experience.

An exciting and eclectic lineup of ballet, jazz, tap and contemporary dance for both the newcomer to dance and the dance lover. From lighthearted comedic styles to moods of pure passion and intensity, all can appreciate the variety of raw emotion highlighted throughout these performances.

The School for Scandal

Centered around the gossip and sexual intrigue which dominated the upper classes in 18th century England, this classic “comedy of manners” presents a sarcastic look at the questionable morality of high society. A clever and subtle comedy, the wit and ingenuity of this play will leave you in stitches.
