Plant Life Cycle Activity

Created by Danielle Trelles

  • Time: ~10 minutes
  • Purpose: Reinforce the basic life cycles that plants go through that is presented in the play while also again being artsy.

Materials

  • Crayons/colored pencils/markers
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Construction paper
  • Template

Instructions

  • Using the template below, trace or copy the worksheet onto your own piece of paper, can be either regular paper or construction paper. You only need to trace one flower, copy the words on it front and back
  • Feel free to color your creations before you cut them out!
  • Cut and paste the stem and pot parts together with the flower onto another piece of regular paper or construction paper. You don’t need to glue down the petals of the flower, just the center. You can fold the petals inward so they pop out of the paper
  • The petals will have the parts of the plant life cycle on them

They are:

  • ) Seed (Picture of a seed)
  • ) Germination (Picture of tiny plant coming out of seed under the sunlight)
  • ) Seedling (Picture of Tiny plant coming out of the ground)
  • ) Young plant (Picture of Small plant with more leaves coming out of the ground)
  • ) Adult plant (Picture of Bigger plant coming out of the ground with a flower)
  • You can fold the petals of the flower inward in the order that you think the life cycle goes.
  • Decorate your art!
