Courtney Rasor is a Teaching Assistant Professor in the School of Theatre and Dance with a background in Stage and Production Management.  She holds a Master of Fine Arts in Stage Management from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI.  She has worked with such companies as Hope Summer Repertory Theatre, Santa Fe Opera, The Drifting Theatre, Americana Theatre Company, and Childsplay, Inc.  She has also stage-managed numerous theatre camps which focus on mentoring future theatre industry leaders.

Courtney’s experience in theatre has afforded her experiences all over the country and throughout the globe.  As the Touring Stage Manager for Childsplay’s Go, Dog. Go! she worked with theatres across the country to provide a special theatrical experience for elementary school students.  She found great joy in providing an exciting experience for these audience members, many of whom were experiencing theatre for the very first time.

Courtney also had the incredible opportunity to stage manage for Celebrity Cruises on several of their luxury cruise ships.  During her time with Celebrity, she worked with crew members from over 65 different nationalities, 6 different casts composed of singers, dancers, acrobats, and aerialists, and several local performance acts from Germany, Ireland, Thailand, Spain, and Singapore. In total, she has facilitated and managed performances off the coasts of over 40 countries.

Favorite professional stage management credits include: Boeing Boeing, Go, Dog. Go!, and Songs for a New World.  Courtney frequently has the opportunity to stage manage on the ECU/Loessin Playhouse stage while mentoring our student stage managers. Favorite ECU credits include Bright Star, Pride & Prejudice, and Fall Dance 2019.

Courtney is excited to train our industry’s newest stage managers and artists in collaboration and communication.  For more info on her work, please visit www.courtneyrasor.com.
