Friends
Laughter and tears, drama and dance, music and romance…
…are the things you’ve come to expect when watching productions on the McGinnis stage. But, as with many things, there is so much more than meets the eye! When the lights go up at the ECU/Loessin Playhouse, they illuminate the performers, costumes and scenery on stage. They also shine on the work of the many essential behind-the-scenes people such as the Friends of the School of Theatre and Dance.
Mission
The mission of the Friends is to raise money for merit scholarships for students of the ECU School of Theatre and Dance. These scholarships are critical: they provide aid to gifted and talented students so that we can recruit and retain the best and brightest students to the School.
Involvement
Friends members serve as an important support and advisory group for the School and the Playhouse. They promote projects to increase community participation. They assist in the development of a regional audience. They create a welcoming environment for visiting guest artists. If you choose, you can be further involved by volunteering your time and talents to serve on the Board of Directors.
Benefits
As a Friends member, you will receive many exclusive benefits, including:
Invitations to numerous special events
Seating priority and advance notice of ticket sales
